This tool holds a trowel blade securely to allow easy renotching with a file or tungsten carbide rod saw. By holding the trowel firmly, the tool prevents the blade flexing that robs a file of its efficiency. This results in much easier and more effective renotching. After the trowel is bolted into position, it can be hand held, or placed against a bench, countertop, or tool box edge. While renotching, the long edge of the tool serves as a visual depth gauge to give a consistent renotch depth.

The tool has 11 adjustment positions to accept virtually any size trowel, or putty knife type scraper. Made from heavy steel angle and bar, the tool measures 18" long overall and weighs 3 lbs.
