Both trimmers cut in either direction and have a four position adjustable throat feature for carpets of varying pile height. Cutting height adjustments are made by using any of six 1/16" thick shims. Blades are stalled from the top and are securely held in position by clamps and lock nuts. The metal handle on the No. 245 is vinyl coated for comfort and has five working positions, including a horizontal position for working under toe spaces. Trimmers are supplied with two carpet trimmer blades and a plastic strip mounted on the stainless steel angled wall runner to prevent wall marking. Other steel parts of trimmers are plated for rust prevention.
